First Freight Train from China to London

I used to be the main express. All steam and whistles heading west.Early today my London colleague shared the news with me:

It says that the train will take about two weeks to cover the 12,000 mile journey from China to London, and is carrying a cargo of clothes, bags and other household items.
I shared the BBC report to WeChat Moments, and I can see that the Chinese Weekly in London has reported the news in Chinese, based on the BBC report:

During the daytime, within 5 hours I've received about 5 enquiries from local contacts, asking about details of the railway route from China to London. Chongqing has a railway route called Yu-Xin-Ou(Europe), it used to be successful for carrying laptops made in Chongqing to the European market (Duisburg for Chongqing, same way as Lodz, Poland for Chengdu) but facing the downturn pressure recently. It's no doubt that people in this game are imagining the new potential of extending their logistics links to the UK.
Later in the afternoon, I happened to meet with a Director of Chongqing Economy And Informationisation Committee, who has been assigned to work as Chongqing representative in Europe (based in Germany) for years. It's unusual to see her in the city at this time of the year because most of her time have been spent abroad. The German Government once granted her long-term multi-entry visa to facilitate her job in Germany, however the Chinese Government rejected the proposal, for the purpose of better manage and control overseas staff.
"(The news) is just about the Yi-Xin-Ou, not Yu-Xin-Ou." She commented on that BBC report, looking at the metro approaching to the platform of Line One. She opened her WeChat and showed several conversations to me, some of her contacts were asking her the same question, interesting.
There use to be a research report produced by the MOFCOM on the outbound railway route from Southwestern China to European countries. I haven't assigned my research colleague to further look into the impact and opportunity of this new route (London as destination) yet, however, I did asked her to collect some information related to the Yi-Xin-Ou railway route for future research.
