First Ever Chinese-Scottish Cooperation in Games Industry
Monday, 13 February 2017Last Thursday BBC reported that the Chengdu-based Chinese mobile games company Skymoons (天象互动) has launched a studio in Edinburgh, with plans to create an initial 21 highly-skilled games development jobs. This marks a milestone of Western China creative industry in its outbound investment activities. According to the news report, the Scottish Development International (SDI) helped to facilitate this FDI project. Scottish Business and Innovation Minister Paul Wheelhouse commented:
This is a great example of international investment in Scotland's growing digital economy and a good example of Scottish Development International support. Scotland is known around the world for our dynamic and successful creative industries - having produced some of the best known and bestselling games in the world.
