Whois: Optional freedom of being anonymous

I got a pop-up message from Ali Cloud, saying that all .top domains registered between 7 Nov and 15 Dec 2016 must complete the real-name authentication certification otherwise they will be put to serverhold status.

The team behind .top registry is a Chinese company located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China (Address shown as 江苏省南京市雨花大道2号邦宁科技园3楼). I'm not surprised to see the updated regulations requiring additional real-name authentication. However I still believe that the anonymity should be an option for the clients, compulsory real-name authentication is not welcomed here.

As of end of the year 2016, the Google has indexed at least 7,120,000 pages within .top domain tld (through search query site:.top).
